2012年フランス、パリで 木彫家 Sylvie Lejeune に出会い、木の素材の面白さに引き込まれ、木の作品に変化する。
2015年に帰国後も伐採された木、桜、柿、銀杏、オーク、ケヤキなど虫食いのあるものなどを自然の中で探し制作を続けています。
今回、大小の作品約30点をインスタレーションでの展開。関西初の展示。作品は全て販売いたします。
Sanae YANAGI
In 2012, I met wood carver Sylvie Lejeune in Paris and interested of wood materials, transforming into wood works.
Until then, marble and granite were used to express budgerigars. Inspired by the Liquefaction phenomenon caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011,
I created a series called “En I’air (in the air)” with the theme of internal physical balance and imbalance.
Creates sculptures that are hung without using pedestal, and sculptures that require little installation on walls or floors. After returning to Japan in 2015,
I continue to create works with the aim of finding and regenerating trees, cherry blossoms, persimmons, ginkgo nuts, oaks, and Japanese zelkova trees that were cut down.
Since 2018, I have been working on a series that “Au fil du temps / Sewing through time.”
By continuing to sew wood, I aim to transcend time and space, connect all beings.
